Learn To Speak French Easily From Home

One of the greatest desires of many folks is to learn a second language. Not surprising though French seems to be a really popular second language people desire to learn. One reason is because France remains to be one of the most traveled countries for folks on vacation traveling abroad, but also is the romantic attraction of the French language.

A friend of mine recently asked me to research products and programs to learn French from home. The requirements she specified is that the home study course had to be complete in that there were no other series to purchase or subscriptions and if possible cost less than $100 USD.

Here are the results of the two best products I found for learning to speak French easily from home. At the end of this comparison I'll give you an overall recommendation and tell you which one my friend thought worked best for her.

Product #1 Rocket French - Overall Rating 5 stars

Rocket French is a product by the most recognized language home study course giants Rocket Languages Ltd. The learn French product is their second most popular selling title taking a back seat to their Rocket Spanish product.

One of the chief benefits of using a Rocket Languages product is that their products while being tailored for the absolute newbie to the new language the product holds a longevity in reuse as a refresher and resource for others that may already know a little about the second language.

Through the use of 31 interactive audio tracks Rocket French is able to get you started speaking French in as little as a couple of hours. However that is not all Rocket French offers the package also contains specialized software titles to add to the learning to speak French course as well. These special softwares come in the form of games that add fun to the learning experience and thus will encourage and entice the student to stick with the program's curriculum.

Product #2 David Rivera's Surefire French - Overall Rating 4 1/2 Stars

Surefire French is another well known home study learn to speak French program. Not as highly endorsed as the previous product, but still very, very effective in the program's method of teaching of the language. Much like Rocket French, Surefire French also uses specialized training courses and software but does not include any audio examples or tracks.

Surefire French appears to be entirely specific to learning to read and write French as opposed to speaking the language. Not having the audio examples to go by for pronunciation could be a serious setback with this course if your desire is to travel abroad to France and you need to be able to communicate verbally. If however your goal is more suited to learning to read and write French then this may be the program for you.

Comprised of 5 different learning modules Surefire French is a definite winner in its ability to teach the ability to read and write the French language.

Summary and Conclusion

Both of the above products are excellent in their fields of expertise of teaching a student the French language. However the one that outshines between the two would have to be the Rocket French program because of it's use of audio along with written lessons. But if your situation only requires the ability to be able to read and write French then Surefire French is more than adequate.

In my friend's case she needed to write a research paper to be submitted in French so the Surefire French product suited her needs and at 1/3 the cost of Rocket French she saved a good chunk of change as well. Howver she did mention to me that if she had of been planning a trip to France Rocket French would have been her first choice.
